I started my internship at KLM on 31 August, working in the Communication: Video & Content Creation department. This is a hands-on, rotational placement. Instead of being locked into one project, I get to help out wherever the team needs an extra pair of hands, which has been a great way to learn quickly. I’m working alongside one other intern, with a team of three permanent employees guiding us. My main project is called Intern on a Mission, and I’m currently working hard on executing some cool and fun concepts. In the first few weeks I’ve helped out on a live broadcast, gaining insight into how the team produces content under real time pressure. I filmed Burendag at Maastricht Airport, capturing the event as it took place. I’ve also filmed behind the scenes footage and edited videos for the team. It’s early days, but I’m already getting a solid feel for how the department works and where my role can develop from here.
